Frequently asked questions
Straight answers for planning, ordering, receiving, installing, and owning Olympic equipment.
Before you order
Choosing the right equipment
Start with the vehicle, the work you need to perform, and the dimensions and utilities available in your shop.
What information should I have before choosing a lift?
Know the heaviest and widest vehicle you expect to lift, wheelbase, ceiling height, available bay width, concrete condition, and electrical service. Also decide whether your priority is repair access, alignment work, vehicle storage, portability, or a combination. Our lift experts can compare models using those details.
Which lift style is best for my shop?
- 2-post: full undercar access for repair and service work.
- 4-post: drive-on convenience for storage, inspection, trucks, and general service.
- Alignment: long runways and alignment-ready configurations.
- Scissor or portable: useful where floor space or ceiling height is limited.
Clearfloor 2-post lifts keep the floor open but require overhead clearance. Baseplate models route cables and hydraulics at floor level and suit lower ceilings.
What concrete does my lift require?
Requirements vary by model. Many anchored lifts call for at least 4 inches of sound, level 3,000 PSI concrete; heavier models may require 5–6 inches or another specified foundation. Concrete must be free of significant cracks and defects. Check the product manual before ordering or drilling. Portable 4-post models that are designed to remain unanchored have different site requirements.
Find your installation manualWhat electrical service do I need?
Many Olympic lifts use 220V single-phase power, while selected models may be offered with 110V or three-phase power units. Voltage, amperage, breaker, wire, and plug requirements vary. Confirm the specifications for the exact model and have electrical work completed by a qualified professional.
Freight made clear
Shipping & receiving
Automotive lifts ship by heavy freight. Planning the delivery location and unloading equipment before the truck arrives prevents delays and extra charges.
What does free shipping include?
Olympic’s shipping policy provides free shipping on automotive lifts and selected shop equipment to the lower 48 states when delivered to a qualifying commercial address or nearby freight terminal. Alaska and Hawaii orders include shipping to the Port of Seattle; ocean freight beyond the port is quoted separately. Smaller accessories and equipment valued under $700 may incur actual parcel or freight charges.
Read the shipping policyCan you deliver to my home or garage?
Yes. Residential LTL delivery is available for an additional fee stated in the shipping policy, and the location must be accessible to a 40-foot truck. Limited-access locations can generate extra carrier charges. A nearby freight terminal is often the simplest option when residential access or unloading is difficult.
Review residential delivery detailsDo I need a forklift to unload?
Yes for direct delivery of lifts and other heavy equipment. A capable forklift must be on site when the carrier arrives. Automotive lifts are too large and heavy for liftgate service and cannot be unloaded by hand. If you do not have a forklift, request freight-terminal delivery so the terminal can load the equipment onto your suitable trailer.
What should I do when the shipment arrives?
Inspect every package for visible damage and missing pieces before signing the delivery receipt. Note any damage or shortage clearly on the receipt, photograph the shipment and packaging, and contact Olympic promptly. Signing without noting damage can limit the ability to pursue a freight claim.
See receiving instructionsHow quickly will my order ship?
In-stock equipment typically ships after full payment is received, often within two to three business days. Inventory, manufacturing, ports, customs, weather, strikes, and carrier conditions can affect timing. Call before ordering if you need a specific model by a specific date.
Can I pick up my equipment in Arlington?
Yes. Will-call pickup is available by appointment at the Arlington, Washington warehouse. The shipping policy requests at least 24 hours’ notice and lists weekday pickup windows. Qualifying lifts and shop equipment valued above $700 may receive a $150 will-call discount. Bring a suitable vehicle or trailer and proper securement equipment.
Check pickup hours and termsKnow the terms
Orders, returns & payment
Heavy freight and installed equipment cannot be handled like small parcel merchandise. Review the applicable terms before authorizing an order.
When is payment due and what payment methods are accepted?
Payment is due in full before delivery, will-call pickup, or installation is scheduled. Olympic accepts most credit cards, checks, and bank wire transfers. The company policy states that Check-by-Phone, COD, and PayPal are not accepted, except for PayPal transactions completed through eBay. Financing options are available separately, subject to approval and program terms.
Explore financingCan I cancel or return an order?
All returns require written authorization. Approved items must be new, unused, uninstalled, in resalable original packaging, and received at the original point of sale within the policy period. Products become non-returnable and non-refundable 30 days after shipment. Special orders, factory orders, installed equipment, and used equipment are non-returnable. Transportation, installation, labor, and other service charges are non-refundable.
Read cancellations and returnsAre there fees for an approved cancellation or return?
Depending on the circumstances, the company policy allows recovery of actual outbound and return transportation costs, a 20% restocking fee, a total 6% credit-card transaction fee, and other reasonable costs caused by the cancellation. The customer is responsible for return shipping, including arranging suitable LTL freight handling.
Review complete company policiesWhat happens if a preorder or shipment is delayed?
The company policy recognizes that manufacturing, port congestion, customs, weather, strikes, and transportation can cause delays. For an order delayed up to 120 days, a requested refund may be reduced by the stated transaction fee. If the shipping delay exceeds 120 days, the policy states that refund requests will be honored in full. Confirm current availability and estimated timing before ordering.
Read the delay policyHow is sales tax handled?
Olympic’s posted company policy states that Washington sales tax is applied to in-state deliveries and will-call orders picked up at the Arlington warehouse. It also describes the company’s treatment of qualifying interstate deliveries. Taxes, duties, tariffs, and customs charges can apply to other destinations; your invoice and applicable law determine the final amount.

Warranty, installation & service
Professional installation, correct use, and routine maintenance protect both your equipment and your warranty coverage.
What does the Olympic limited warranty cover?
The Gold Series warranty begins on the shipment date and covers defects in materials, workmanship, and warranted parts for the original purchaser. The posted coverage periods are:
- 10 years: major structural components.
- 3 years: listed power units, cylinders, cables, hoses, locks, pulleys, sheaves, and bushings.

Coverage varies by product, so confirm the warranty supplied with the equipment you purchase.
Read the complete warrantyDoes the warranty include labor or shipping?
No. The limited warranty provides eligible replacement parts but does not include field labor, technician charges, installation, maintenance, or repair costs. Shipping for warranted parts is the customer’s responsibility. Expedited shipping can be requested at the customer’s expense.
Review warranty costs and exclusionsWhat can void warranty coverage?
Coverage can be affected by overloading, abuse, neglect, poor maintenance, unprofessional installation, incorrect voltage or wiring, environmental damage or corrosion, unauthorized modifications, and unauthorized third-party parts or work. Obtain written approval before arranging outside services if you expect reimbursement.
Read warranty requirementsDo you offer professional installation?
Yes. Installation is available for Olympic lifts, subject to location, product, site conditions, and scheduling. Installation must be paid in advance and is scheduled on a first-paid, first-served basis. Even if you use another qualified installer, follow the exact manual and all applicable electrical, concrete, anchoring, and safety requirements.
