Capacity is necessary, but it is not sufficient
- Per-axle loading: an unevenly loaded truck can exceed a runway or jack limit while remaining under the total lift rating.
- Runway geometry: tire track, tire width, wheelbase and overhang must fit the usable deck.
- Service type: alignment work needs turntables and slip plates; wheels-off work needs approved bridge jacks.
- Facility: verify overall lift length with ramps, width, height, approach distance, slab, anchors, power and air.
Three useful Olympic examples
4PHR-9X: 9,000 lb, 112 in overall width, 98.7 in between-post width, 181 in runway length, 218.9 in overall length with ramps and 78.74 in maximum clearance under tracks. It is a home-storage candidate for compatible pickups, not a heavy fleet lift.
4PHDXL-12: 12,000 lb, 132.4 in overall width, 111.79 in between-post width, 216.53 in length without ramps, 255.9 in length with ramps, 196.85 in runway length and 21.65 in runway width. It is the step-up choice for compatible larger pickups and vans.
4PHDXLA-15: 15,000 lb, 99.6 in drive-through width, 196.85 in runways, 21.65 in runway width, turntables and slip plates. It is designed for professional alignment and truck service.
Before ordering
Weigh the truck as serviced; measure it; compare every dimension with the current product drawing; and ask Olympic to confirm tire placement, axle loads, bridge-jack compatibility and installation requirements. Do not lift a loaded truck beyond the lift’s rating, and never treat towing capacity as vehicle weight.
